Redesign blinds to prevent child deaths: MD

The chances of tod­dlers suf­fo­cat­ing on Venet­ian blinds could be reduced if the indus­try would redesign the prod­ucts, a pedi­a­tri­cian says.

Writ­ing in Wednesday’s issue of the British Med­ical Jour­nal, Dr. Mahesh Masand of Dr. Gray’s Hos­pi­tal in Elgin, Scot­land, described cases of acci­den­tal stran­gu­la­tion on Venet­ian blind cords.
